Metaverse studio Melon announces its first original game in Roblox

Roblox-centric developer Melon announced today that it is releasing its first original game within the metaverse. It’s called Jump Kingdoms.

In Jump Kingdoms, players play as pals, colorful creatures that they can customize (these characters are unique to the game). These pals compete against each other in randomly generated parkour challenges. These parkour races are held in places like lava fields and castles. Season 0 of the game will start next week, while Season 1 will start in November.

The cute, candy-colored pals are similar to the beans in Fall Guys. They can be customized with a range of brightly colored outfits, which only makes it more eye-catching. While much of the success of games on Roblox in the past has come from user-generated content, there are more companies like Supersocial and Toya that are setting up professional studios that focus on developing Roblox games.

Melon is the development studio that has created several interactive experiences in the universe for pop stars, including Ava Max and KSI. So far, most of the studio̵7;s work in the Roblox metaverse has been corporate marketing projects. Now it’s doing its own game in space. Melon claims that his story of creating immersive experiences in Roblox shaped the evolution of Jump Kingdoms.

Melon founder Devon Thome said in a statement that the theme of Jump Kingdoms in Roblox has a history: “Parkour and obstacle games have been popular with Roblox for over a decade, and we feel like the competitive randomly generated races in Jump Kingdoms this is what this kind of gaming justice really does. “
